Everyone in a team has their specific skillset and their own strengths and weaknesses in behaviour and communication, which they use to make a difference to the team. But it is precisely these individual expertises and behaviours that often create islands within the team. In many sub-optimal teams, team members focus on themselves and there is little mutual cooperation. This creates a culture of blame-shifting. There is a lack of mutual trust. Ad hoc crisis management and personal interest prevail. Everyone then fights mainly for his or her own interests, but loses sight of ‘the big picture’: working together strategically on long-term goals with vision.
In short: many teams are not actually teams, and certainly not high-performing teams.
How is this manifested in organisations in one-to-one conversations and team meetings?
For example, there is a lack of clear goals and structure. Mutual irritations are glossed over and there are many unspoken feelings. Good ideas are nipped in the bud. Many team members are not speaking out. There are many long discussions without decision-making. Leadership is in question. In the end, much time and effort is spent in meetings that are inefficient and ineffective.
With ‘TeamWork’ a unique approach to team building, we extract the hidden potential from a team and contribute to exceeding intended goals.
Team members grow into a strong team, through increased mutual trust, courage to hold each other accountable for performance, no more conflict avoidance, complete dedication to the team and a focus on shared results.
We do this through tailor-made programmes of one to several days, in which we act as external trainers and facilitators who make patterns visible and discussable and strengthen mutual qualities.
At the start, we look from a helicopter perspective at both the strengths and challenges of the team and the market in which the organisation operates. Each team member works in advance on his or her own analysis (Lencioni team-assessment and on request also individual intake) with which we guarantee good preparation.

We work on both the hard and soft side of team performance. For instance, we often contribute to clarity of mission, team identity (what is the real task of the team) and commitment to goals and action planning. In addition, we work on deepening the informal bond between team members. When necessary, we also use active and unconventional methods, such as outdoor activities in nature.
Our highly experienced trainers take a sharp look at habits that consciously or unconsciously hold the team back. With sharp interventions and a deep understanding of human behaviour, they know how to create lasting results.
